Chances are, capable communication is near the top of the list. Of all the skills you can pack into your career toolbox, communication is among the most important.
Here’s your chance to do something about that!

Through the communications and media workshops, participants will gain practical, hands-on experience building communication skills, giving them an edge wherever their professional path leads: interacting with the media, engaging policymakers, communicating science to general audiences, building better presentations and more.

All workshops meet at the Learning and Environmental Sciences Building on the St. Paul campus.

Thurs., Mar. 14 1:30-5:30 p.m. Contributing to Policymaking Introduction to policymaking process; panel discussion with policy professionals; practice working through ways of contributing to policymaking process
Thurs., Mar. 28
1:30-5:30 p.m.		 Interacting with the Media / Op-eds: Educating and Persuading Through Writing Discussion with a media panel; preparing for a media interview; mock interviews with media professionals; discussion with op-ed editors; importance of science in the public arena; constructing op-ed pieces
